Today finds me holding a cup of hot cocoa, pondering ideas for the miniatures show. The show will be on November 22nd, and hopefully well attended. The little gallery we have can hold quite a few people - especially those coming and going from the star lighting event. We'll have music, hot cocoa, cider, and cookies to entice, and wonderful beautiful artwork to indulge the visual senses. I have one piece nearly completed (just debating the background right now) and several planned out. they are all going to be 5X7 small originals - which I plan to scan to make into prints later. Today I will be updating the webpage with the new artwork I created last month. It's time to recharge the energy on the website and change out a few things to make it fresh - for the people who see it, as well as for me. Putting new completed artworks is always so exciting for me - because I get to share my creativity with the world. It also makes my muse busy with new ideas. I have a beautiful piece I am working on involving an iris that I am hoping to enter into the Romancing the Arts Show in February. I need two more completed works if I want to be able to turn in the max amount for the judges to choose from. The way it works is you turn in slides or digital's of the three pieces you are wanting to place in the show. Then the judges look through all the pictures at once and choose the number of pieces they have room to hang. If they get 300 and only have room for 150 - they have to narrow it down to their favorites. Four judges pick the artwork - none of them are IN the show to make it fair. Your money you send in with the application goes to the show whether you get accepted or not for ribbons, Judges fee's, reception materials, advertisement and things like that. Being behind the scene is just as exciting as being in the show. I'm having fun making things happen this year!
