Several wonderful things happened this week. I stood among peers at a town council meeting to apply for a grant for out Art guild. In the process we heard about alot of groups that are growing and helping the community - it was amazing. The one negative is that the food bank here where I'm at - and food banks all over the country - are out of food. The gas prices have raised food prices which have made it hard on families and the demands on the food bank are ever increasing. There was a 33% increase of new clients this past week. What am I doing about it? I'm helping a food drive our guild president is organizing. Food drives at high schools, elementary schools, at offices and such are an excellent idea. It has influenced my art - and this week I found myself drawing and painting much more thoughtfully in regards to our community. I hope to create a selection of artwork that's specifically for donating to good causes to help raise money.
Thoughtfully yours
