Pre Thanksgiving jitters
As a result of a comedy of events I somehow became the "Matron" of our little family here where I live. In this day and age that sounds so archaic or old fashioned to my ears. Yet here I am. Being Matron simply means that all the females in your life that used to organize and make things happen to pull the family together are now gone - and someone - if there is someone - steps up to continue on. That just happened to be me. So I make the phone calls, I open my home to the family I hold dear and we enjoy each others company for the bits of time our busy lives allow. I organize crafts for all the kids to do - have to add art in there somewhere!! This year I will have a total of 13 people including my own family in my home - some holidays it reaches well over 20. My family is small in comparison to some - but we love each other in our strange wonderful ways. They accept me for who I am, what I am, and I return the feelings. We aren't perfect - and I'm thankful this Thanksgiving for it. I have a mix of acceptance for my artistic ventures - anywhere from - "WOW - that is SOoooo awesome!!" to "You really are serious about this Art Thingy, Huh" I have the confidence in myself now to follow my heart and soul - and not the desires of others. There was a time when that was JUST the opposite. I am also Thankful for that this year. I have many many things I am thankful for - some of them I can post - some of them I have to wait till December to post. But I would like to make a partial list here :)

1. My little family
2. My friends
3. My extended family
4. The creative force that has lead me here
5. My health!
6. Serendipity and all of it's gifts
7. For all the people reading this, and the time they took to do so

Happy Thanksgiving - I hope it's a wonderful day for you!!
