In the Contest in the Show
The artwork for the National Arts show is hung and already been judged. We'll find out the results on October 24th at the Reception. What a wonderful start!! I am uncertain how my rooster stands against all the others in the Professional category - but I am glad I had the confidence to believe I belonged there!
My next show is the miniatures show. I'm gearing to get started today with all the things I want to do. The show will be November 22nd at the Gallery here, and my artwork will be for sale. Miniatures are 1/6 the size of the original if you were to get technical. I'm not sure how exact I will get - but they will all be small paintings or drawings. I got some small 5/7 canvases and have been brainstorming ideas of what I want to do. Of course Christmas themes keep popping into my head. I believe I will just begin and see where my creativity leads me. I'm tempted to do some calligraphy type things with my watercolors - I'm not skilled with water colored scenes - but I do make some lovely scroll type paintings with a bit of research.
This season I feel energized to see what I can do, and then do it even better. I hope to challenge myself - both with a schedule I keep to, and to test my skills as an artist. I hope to surprise myself :)
