The Rooster Dash
After an insane week with my pencils and paper my Rooster is finally done. I worked as fast as I had time and ability, with numerous creative "coffee" breaks which included time tickling my sons, smelling the aroma of homemade cooking (my own) and the occasional cookie and milk break - which I savored. With intense deadlines like my procrastination created this time it's essential I keep the promise to care for myself my top priority or the picture will loose it's soul in the process and become just something I made. I stuck to the same recipe as I did with the "Summer Pig" the rooster is in the center with the the background very subtle, and then in a small frame around him are visions of his farm with no people or animals to be seen (although I was sorely tempted to add a chick or two). The reason for this is so that regardless of race, creed, religion, background etc. If the person has ever lived on, been on, or read about a farm in the west they can relate to the picture. Today he will be scanned, and framed - I have to figure out where the best place to scan him is - and I'm short on time unfortunately as it HAS to be ready by today. My weekend is filled with all day events, and the project is due to be handed in on Monday to be hung Monday and Tuesday. Procrastination may have bit me in the butt as time slipped through my fingers like the sand on the beach - but I'm proud of myself. I completed it and I'm VERY happy with the results. The title is "Rooster On Patrol" and he certainly is!! Look for him on the website next week!
